April Meeting

April Online Meeting

Dear Members,

We hope everyone is managing well during this turbulent and uncertain time. The ShorelineCTMQG Board has been communicating online and meeting remotely to determine the best way to deliver a remote meeting. We have decided to use Zoom as our platform. As our time will be limited to 40 minutes, we thought it would be fun to connect informally and share any projects we’re working on.

Meeting time: Thursday, April 9th, 7 pm

To join our Zoom meeting, please refer to your membership email with complete meeting details on how to log in and participate.

Other notes:

We encourage our members to engage in whatever quilting activities best serve your needs at this time. There are several resources for making masks, such as the following;

  1. Cate received word back from the donations group at Yale-New Haven Hospital last night that they are (1) now accepting hand-sewn mask donations, AND (2) they have even approved a specific pattern for use IN THE HOSPITAL! Here is the pattern link; Face masks. Cate will act as a central collection location of handmade masks (and any unopened Personal Protective Equipment/PPE) for those wishing to avoid a trip to West Haven or the post office.  However, please double-check with her before dropping off at the shop as “the situation is fluid” and depends on at least staffer being healthy.  Call Cate’s at # is 203-421-6853.

  2. Also, see this article link; .pdf pattern.

  3. And finally, here is a link which includes (7) different sewing mask pattern resources.

Our next group project will be creating 10″ in blocks from the following YouTube video to share when we finally get together again. The video is called Crumb Quilting along with project;

We hope to connect with you remotely!
